We are looking for a high caliber individual who is dynamic, analytical and innovative to join Business Development & Asset Management Oversight team in our Group Finance department. Reporting to the Associate Director, the appointee will be responsible for supporting business and project development activities through investment and financial analysis, as well as providing support on commercial oversight of projects with details below:
Responsibilities
Undertake research and financial analysis to support business development activities, particularly for innovation-related projects Interact with corporate functions supporting BU project teams to strengthen project development and execution capabilities Assist business units in analysing projects of strategic importance in key CLP markets Develop and run financial models independently to evaluate new business ventures, direct investments, greenfield and acquisition investment opportunities Research regulatory policies and development of markets where CLP has presence or intends to expand, with a focus on innovation-related areas Provide analytical support on project or corporate financing and evaluate various financing structures and sources Work with project teams on due diligence for M&A transactions and potential JV opportunities, highlighting key project risks and suggesting mitigations to management where applicable Support the Investment Committee (IC) process to ensure proper governance of all investment activities undertaken by CLP Group Support preparation of investment proposals for internal management and Board approvals Provide analytical support on post project implementation reviews
Requirements
A recognized university degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant working experience in investment banking, direct investment, equity research or management consulting. Professional qualification such as CPA, CFA is a plus Good understanding of the power / energy industry or infrastructure projects, as well as knowledge of commercial issues, risk analysis, and policy regimes in different geographical markets. Candidates with international power experience will be an advantage Experience in financial modelling and strong qualitative and quantitative analytical capabilities Strong business acumen to provide analysis and insights Self-motivated, able to thrive in a cross-functional team environment and work independently Excellent communication and presentation skills Candidates with less experience will be considered as Senior Associate
